This bill would require general elections for municipal offices, including the offices of Mayor, Public Advocate, Comptroller, Council, and Borough President, to be conducted using ranked choice voting.

This bill would bar, through amendment of section 1136.1 of the New York City Charter, New York City elected officers and their spouses from appearing in an advertisement or commercial, including but not limited to a public service announcement, produced with governmental funds or resources that is displayed on infrastructure owned, operated, or franchised by the City.

This bill would require the inspecting entity of a periodic gas piping inspection be either a licensed master plumber or a licensed journeyman plumber working under the direct supervision of a licensed master plumber.

This bill would require the Department of Correction, in coordination with Correctional Health Services, to establish and maintain written protocols related to the identification, screening, referral, monitoring, and follow-up care of pregnant or postpartum individuals with mental health needs.

This bill would require the Police Commissioner to publish a transparency report on the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) plan to address and contain the risk of physical obstruction, physical injury, intimidation and interference at entrances to and exits from certain educational facilities in the City, through the use of security perimeters.

This bill would require the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, with the help of the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, to create educational materials around estate planning.

Currently, senior citizens with annual incomes of $50,000 or less may qualify for an exemption from real property taxes to the extent of 50% of the assessed value of their homes.

This bill would require the New York City Police Department (NYPD) to report on the number of confirmed firearm discharges in the city on a weekly basis.
