1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Veterans’ Transition to Trucking Act of 2025 .
2: Authorization for Secretary of Veterans Affairs to approve interstate commerce carrier apprenticeship programs for purposes of veterans educational assistance
This section would change how apprenticeship programs get approved so veterans can use their VA educational assistance benefits to take part in them. Under current law, subparagraph (A) of section 3672(c)(1) of title 38 has a State approving agency handle that approval. This section would add an exception to that rule: the State approving agency would still handle approval except as provided in a new subparagraph (B). That new subparagraph (B) would let the Secretary of Veterans Affairs act in the role of a State approving agency for the specific purpose of approving a multi-State apprenticeship program, meaning a program that operates across more than one state. The section would also renumber the existing subparagraph (B) as subparagraph (C), with no change to what it says.
