An Act to create 101.05 (7) of the statutes; relating to: regulation of amusement rides located at campgrounds.

This bill exempts amusement rides located at campgrounds licensed by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection from regulation by the Department of Safety and Professional Services if they are installed according to the manufacturer’s recommended standards. Under current law, DSPS regulates amusement rides.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. 101.05 (7) of the statutes is created to read:
101.05 (7) Notwithstanding ss. 101.02 (15), 101.12 (1), and 101.17 (1), ss. 101.02 (15), 101.12 (1), and 101.17 (1) do not apply to an amusement ride that is
installed according to the manufacturer’s recommended standards and located at a campground licensed under s. 97.67.
