CHAPTER 802
An Act to require the Board of Education to amend its Regulations Governing Allowable Credit for Teaching Experience to permit the allowance of certain teaching experience credit substitutions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Board of Education shall amend 8VAC20-23-10 of the Virginia Administrative Code to provide that, for the purpose of salary placement credit, teachers in the field of career and technical education, where the licensure requirement calls for occupational work experience beyond the apprenticeship level, may be allowed credit for one year of teaching experience for each two years of work experience or may be allowed credit for one year of teaching experience for each year of work experience.
2. That the Board of Education shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this act to be effective within 280 days of its enactment.
