2026 RECONVENED SESSION REENROLLED VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER An Act to direct the Board of Education to consider, during its next regularly scheduled revision of the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework, the necessity of including in such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework additional instructional emphasis on recent, twenty-first century history and current events, including events on or related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the United States Capitol. [H 333] Approved Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: 1. § 1. That the Board of Education (the Board) shall, during its next regularly scheduled revision of the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework and in its subsequent selection of associated textbooks and high-quality instructional materials, consider whether it would be necessary to include in such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework additional instructional emphasis on recent, twenty-first century history and current events, including the events on or related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the United States Capitol.
