La Comisión de las Ocupaciónes Americanos Act

The bill creates a commission to study past US military interventions in Nicaragua, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Grenada, and Panama, plus any other interventions in the Americas the commission votes to add. The commission would document the effects on affected countries, recommend how to educate the public, and consider a formal US apology and reconciliation proposals. Its report is due to Congress within 4 years, after which the commission ends 90 days later. Congress authorizes $20 million to fund the work.
