To authorize leases of up to 99 years for land held in trust for federally recognized Indian Tribes.

This section would amend the land-leasing law for land held in trust for Indian Tribes (subsection (a) of the first section of the Act of August 9, 1955, codified at 25 U.S.C. 415(a)). That law's second sentence already names specific tribes and reservations, including the Chehalis Reservation, whose trust land qualifies for lease terms of up to 99 years. This section would insert new language right after the existing reference to the Chehalis Reservation so that land held in trust for any other Indian Tribe on the list of federally recognized tribes that the Secretary publishes under section 104 of the Federally Recognized Indian Tribe List Act of 1994 also qualifies for lease terms of up to 99 years.
