2Eligibility of opioid treatment programs for health professions opportunity grants
Section 2008(a)(4)(A) of the Social Security Act lists which types of organizations count as eligible entities for health professions opportunity grants. This section would add opioid treatment programs, as defined in section 1861(jjj)(2) of the Social Security Act, and other high quality comprehensive addiction care providers to that list of eligible entities. Community-based organizations would remain on the list as well, so opioid treatment programs and these other addiction care providers would become newly eligible to receive the grants alongside them.
