This section would give the Act the short title "Saving Homeowners from Overregulation With Exceptional Rinsing Act" or the "SHOWER Act".

1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Saving Homeowners from Overregulation With Exceptional Rinsing Act or the SHOWER Act .
2: Revised definition of showerhead
This section would replace the definition of "showerhead" in the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. 6291(31)(D)) with a new definition: a showerhead would be whatever meets the meaning given to that term in the industry standard ASME A112.18.1-2024, except that safety shower showerheads would not count as showerheads under this definition. Within 180 days after the Act becomes law, the Secretary of Energy would be required to issue whatever revisions to federal regulations are necessary to make those regulations match this new definition.

2. Revised definition of showerhead (a) In general Section 321(31)(D) of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act ( 42 U.S.C. 6291(31)(D) ) is amended to read as follows: (D) The term showerhead has the meaning given such term in ASME A112.18.1–2024, except such term does not include safety shower showerheads. . (b) Revisions to regulations Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Energy shall promulgate such revisions to regulations as may be necessary to conform such regulations to the definition of showerhead in section 321(31)(D) of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended by subsection (a) of this section.
