1: Future membership of the Catawba Indian Tribe of South Carolina

This section would amend subsection (d) of section 7 of the Catawba Indian Tribe of South Carolina Land Claims Settlement Act of 1993 (Public Law 103-116) by striking out a specific requirement in that subsection. The requirement being removed said that no individual could be enrolled as a tribal member unless the individual was a lineal descendant of a person on the final base membership roll and had continued to maintain political relations with the Tribe. By striking this requirement, this section would remove both of those conditions as a bar to future tribal membership enrollment under that subsection.
