African Burial Ground International Memorial Museum and Educational Center Act

The bill establishes an African Burial Ground International Memorial Museum and Educational Center at the African Burial Ground National Monument in New York City, honoring enslaved people buried there and examining the history of slavery. The Secretary of the Interior would acquire land and build and run the museum, and the federal government would pay two-thirds of the acquisition and construction costs. A new advisory council would help plan and oversee it. The bill authorizes 15 million dollars for fiscal year 2025 and further funding in later years.
