S.B. No. 764 AN ACT relating to the procedure for a hearing by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on the denial of an electrician's license or disciplinary action against an electrician. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 1305.253(b), Occupations Code, is amended to read as follows: (b) The proceedings relating to a license denial and disciplinary action by the department under this chapter are governed by Chapter 2001, Government Code. [A hearing under this chapter may be conducted by a hearings officer designated by the commission.] SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only to a hearing that commences on or after the effective date of this Act. A hearing that commences before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the hearing commenced, and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
