S.B. No. 1242 AN ACT relating to the acquisition of land and facilities by the Texas State Technical College System. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 135.02(c), Education Code, is amended to read as follows: (c) The board may accept or acquire by purchase in the name of the State of Texas land and facilities in any of the counties in which a campus or extension center is located. [The coordinating board must review and approve the acceptance or acquisition of any land and facilities if: [(1) the board of regents requests to place the land and facilities on its educational and general buildings and facilities inventory; and [(2) the combined value of the land and facilities is more than $300,000 at the time the board of regents requests the property to be added to the educational and general buildings and facilities inventory.] SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2025. ______________________________ ______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.B.
