H.B. No. 668 AN ACT relating to the renewal of a license to carry a handgun. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 411.185(a), Government Code, is amended to read as follows: (a) To renew a license, a license holder must, on or before the first anniversary of the date the license expires, submit to the department by mail or, in accordance with the procedure adopted under Subsection (f), on the Internet: (1) a renewal application on a form provided by the department; (2) payment of a nonrefundable renewal fee of $40; and (3) the informational form described by Subsection (c) signed or electronically acknowledged by the applicant. SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a handgun license that expires before, on, or after the effective date of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2025. ______________________________ ______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
