H.B. No. 3233 AN ACT relating to patient data maintained by pharmacy benefit managers. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 4151, Insurance Code, is amended by adding Section 4151.1531 to read as follows: Sec. 4151.1531. SECURITY OF PATIENT DATA. A pharmacy benefit manager may not store or process patient data for a resident of this state in a location outside of the United States or its territories. SECTION 2. Section 4151.1531, Insurance Code, as added by this Act, applies only to a contract entered into or renewed on or after the effective date of this Act. SECTION 3.
