S3287 2026 -- S 3287 ======== LC006440 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ S E N A T E R E S O L U T I O N HONORING THE RHODE ISLAND MEDICAL SOCIETY FOR ORGANIZING THE 2026 STATE HOUSE ADVOCACY DAY Introduced By: Senators Ujifusa, Lawson, Tikoian, Murray, LaMountain, Felag, Valverde, Urso, Burke, and Britto Date Introduced: May 14, 2026 Referred To: Recommended for Immediate Consideration 1 WHEREAS, Physicians play an essential role in safeguarding the health, well-being, and 2 quality of life of all Rhode Islanders; and 3 WHEREAS, Members of the Rhode Island Medical Society (RIMS) represent a broad 4 community of physicians committed to excellence in patient care, medical education, scientific 5 advancement, public health, and service to their communities; and 6 WHEREAS, Physicians across Rhode Island provide compassionate, evidence-based care 7 to patients, while navigating an increasingly complex healthcare system marked by significant 8 administrative, regulatory, and financial pressures; and 9 WHEREAS, Physician advocacy is essential to ensuring that healthcare policy remains 10 centered on patients, supports access to timely and affordable care, and improves public health 11 throughout the State; and 12 WHEREAS, The annual RIMS Advocacy Day brings physicians to the State House to 13 engage directly with policymakers, share their medical expertise and frontline experience, and 14 advocate for policies that improve patient outcomes and support sustainable healthcare systems; 15 now, therefore be it 16 RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby honors the Rhode 17 Island Medical Society for organizing the 2026 State House Advocacy Day and recognizes the 18 physicians participating in this event for their dedication to their patients, their profession, and the 19 people of the State of Rhode Island; and be it further 1 RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to 2 transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rhode Island Medical Society. ======== LC006440 ======== LC006440 - Page 2 of 2
