S2377 2026 -- S 2377 ======== LC004556 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ J O I N T R E S O L U T I O N MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $200,000 TO THE RHODE ISLAND FREE CLINIC Introduced By: Senators Quezada, Tikoian, Ciccone, Bissaillon, Urso, Acosta, Zurier, Pearson, Vargas, and DiMario Date Introduced: January 30, 2026 Referred To: Senate Finance 1 WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Free Clinic was founded in 1998, with the mission “to 2 provide free, comprehensive medical care and preventive health services to adults who have no 3 health insurance and cannot afford those services; and to serve as an educational training site for 4 aspiring healthcare professionals”; now, therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not 6 otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2026-2027, the sum of two hundred thousand dollars 7 ($200,000) to the Rhode Island Free Clinic; and the state controller is hereby authorized and 8 directed to draw their orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of said sum, or so much 9 thereof as may be from time to time required, upon receipt of properly authenticated vouchers. ======== LC004556 ======== EXPLANATION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF J O I N T R E S O L U T I O N MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $200,000 TO THE RHODE ISLAND FREE CLINIC *** 1 This resolution would appropriate the sum of $200,000 to the Rhode Island Free Clinic. ======== LC004556 ======== LC004556 - Page 2 of 2
