S2327 2026 -- S 2327 ======== LC004298 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO HOLIDAYS AND DAYS OF SPECIAL OBSERVANCE Introduced By: Senators Sosnowski, Britto, and McKenney Date Introduced: January 23, 2026 Referred To: Senate Special Legislation and Veterans Affairs It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 25-2 of the General Laws entitled Days of Special Observance is 2 hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 25-2-62. Rhode Island native plant month. 4 The month of May shall annually be set apart as a month to be known as Rhode Island 5 Native Plant Month. The month shall be observed by the people of this state with appropriate 6 ceremonies and activities to recognize as well as educate people about the importance and history 7 of Rhode Island s native plants and the need to preserve them. 8 SECTION 2.
