S2044 2026 -- S 2044 ======== LC003450 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO WATERS AND NAVIGATION -- WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Introduced By: Senators Raptakis, and Rogers Date Introduced: January 09, 2026 Referred To: Senate Housing & Municipal Government It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 46-15 of the General Laws entitled Water Resources Management 2 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 46-15-25. Rental fees. 4 Twenty percent (20%) of all rental fees collected by the water resources board pursuant to 5 a lease agreement with the Coventry Pines Golf Club or a memorandum of understanding with the 6 town of Coventry, shall be remitted as follows: 7 (1) Ten percent (10%) to the town of Coventry; and 8 (2) Ten percent (10%) to the Central Coventry Fire District. 9 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. ======== LC003450 ======== EXPLANATION BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF A N A C T RELATING TO WATERS AND NAVIGATION -- WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT *** 1 This act would require twenty percent (20%) of all rental fees collected by the water 2 resources board (WRB) pursuant to a lease with the Coventry Pines Golf Club or memorandum of 3 understanding with the town of Coventry be paid ten percent (10%) to the town of Coventry and 4 ten percent (10%) to the Central Coventry Fire District. 5 This act would take effect upon passage. ======== LC003450 ======== LC003450 - Page 2 of 2
