H8471 2026 -- H 8471 ======== LC006313 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSING-- PARKING SPACES Introduced By: Representatives Nardone, Roberts, Chippendale, Read, Noret, and Serpa Date Introduced: April 17, 2026 Referred To: House Municipal Government & Housing It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 45-53 of the General Laws entitled Low and Moderate Income 2 Housing is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 45-53-17. Coventry low- or moderate-income housing parking spaces. 4 The town of Coventry may require two (2) parking spaces for each studio, one-bedroom, 5 or two (2) bedroom low- or moderate-income housing unit upon the municipality s determination 6 that there is limited or no local public transportation or off-street parking availability within a 7 reasonable proximity to these low- or moderate-income housing units. 8 SECTION 2.
