H7686 2026 -- H 7686 ======== LC005250 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- PRIMARY CARE TRAINING SITES PROGRAM Introduced By: Representatives Fogarty, Handy, Knight, Cortvriend, Shallcross Smith, Ajello, Donovan, Spears, McGaw, and Boylan Date Introduced: February 11, 2026 Referred To: House Finance It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 23-17.30 of the General Laws entitled Primary Care Training Sites 2 Program is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 23-17.30-8. Appropriation of funds. 4 (a) For the fiscal year 2026 and thereafter, the State of Rhode Island shall appropriate the 5 sum of two million seven hundred thousand dollars ($2,700,000) to the primary care training sites 6 program for the purpose of supporting its training for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician 7 assistants, established pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. 8 (b) The funds appropriated under this section shall be administered by the department of 9 health. 10 SECTION 2.
