H7672 2026 -- H 7672 ======== LC004328 ======== STATE OF RHODE ISLAND IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY JANUARY SESSION, A.D. 2026 ____________ A N A C T RELATING TO MOTOR AND OTHER VEHICLES -- SPECIAL STOPS REQUIRED Introduced By: Representatives Boylan, Fogarty, Casimiro, DeSimone, Read, Hull, Spears, Dawson, Felix, and Kislak Date Introduced: February 11, 2026 Referred To: House State Government & Elections (by request) It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 31-20 of the General Laws entitled Special Stops Required is 2 hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 3 31-20-18. Posting bike path stop signs. 4 The department of transportation, in coordination with the traffic safety commission, shall 5 on all state highways, erect and maintain adequate signs requiring operators of motor vehicles to 6 come to a complete stop because of the existence of an intersection of a bike path, and roadway, as 7 defined in § 31-1-23. 8 SECTION 2.
