7 An Act relating to the state Medicaid program;
7 requiring coverage of insulin and insulin delivery
8 systems; specifying certain covered insulin delivery
8 system; directing the Oklahoma Health Care Authority
9 to seek certain federal approval; providing for
9 codification; providing an effective date; and
10 declaring an emergency.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
14
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5009.7 of Title 63, unless there
15
16 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
16
17 A. The state Medicaid program shall, when medically necessary
17
18 for the management or treatment of diabetes, cover insulin and
18
19 insulin delivery systems. Covered insulin delivery systems shall
19
20 include, but not be limited to, a tubeless, wearable insulin pump
20
21 that delivers insulin automatically.

22 B. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall seek any federal
22
23 approval necessary to implement this section.

24 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.

1 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation

2 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
2
3 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
3
4 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
