7   An Act relating to children; authorizing

7   breastfeeding of child in foster care under certain

8   conditions; directing promulgation of rules;

8   providing for codification; and providing an

9   effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.     NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

13

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-7-117 of Title 10A, unless
14

15 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15

16  A. A person with whom a child under two (2) years of age has

16

17 been placed pursuant to a court order for the purpose of providing
17

18 foster care, if such person is a lactating female, may breastfeed
18

19 the child if the person receives authorization from the Department
19

20 of Human Services and obtains prior written informed consent from a
20

21 biological parent of the child, if obtaining such consent is
21

22 practicable as determined by the Department.

23  B. The Director of Human Services shall promulgate rules to

23

24 implement the provisions of this section.

1   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
