7   An Act relating to district courts; amending 20 O.S.

7   2021, Sections 92.6 and 92.22, which relates to

8   Judicial Districts No. 5 and No. 21; modifying

8   counties from which certain district court judges are

9   nominated and elected; updating statutory language;

9   and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY   20 O.S. 2021, Section 92.6, is

13

14 amended to read as follows:
14

15  Section 92.6. District No. 5. The counties of Comanche,

15

16 Stephens, Cotton and Jefferson. Said The district shall have five
16

17 (5) district judges to be nominated as follows: Candidates for
17

18 office Nos. 1 and 4 to shall be nominated and elected at large and
18

19 legal residents of Comanche or Cotton County and shall be nominated
19

20 and elected from such counties; a candidate for office No. 2 to
20

21 shall be nominated and elected at large and a legal resident of
21

22 Stephens or Jefferson County and shall be nominated and elected from
22

23 such counties; and candidates for office Nos. 3 and 5 to shall be

1 nominated and elected at large and legal residents of Comanche

2 County and shall be nominated and elected from such county.

3   SECTION 2.    AMENDATORY   20 O.S. 2021, Section 92.22, is

3

4 amended to read as follows:

5   Section 92.22. District No. 21. The counties of Garvin,

5

6 McClain and Cleveland. Until the district court elections of 2014,
6

7 said district to have four (4) district judges nominated as follows:
7

8 Candidates for office Nos. 1, 3 and 4 shall be nominated and elected
8

9 at large and legal residents of Cleveland County, and a candidate
9

10 for office No. 2 shall be nominated and elected at large and a legal
10

11 resident of Garvin or McClain County. With the district court
11

12 elections of 2014, said The district to shall have five (5) district
12

13 judges nominated as follows: Candidates for office Nos. 1, 3, 4 and
13

14 5 shall be nominated and elected at large and legal residents of
14

15 Cleveland County and shall be nominated and elected from such
15

16 county, and a candidate for office No. 2 shall be nominated and
16

17 elected at large and a legal resident of Garvin or McClain County
17

18 and shall be nominated and elected from such counties. The initial
18

19 election for office No. 5, as created by this act, shall be in 2014.
19

20  SECTION 3. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
