7 An Act relating to driver licenses; allowing for the
7 designation of durable medical equipment donor on
8 certain licenses; requiring promulgation of rules by
8 Service Oklahoma; defining term; providing for
9 codification; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-126 of Title 47, unless there
14
15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

16 A. Upon application for issuance or renewal of a driver license
16
17 or identification card, the applicant may elect to donate durable
17
18 medical equipment upon death to a non-profit entity selected by
18
19 Service Oklahoma. Service Oklahoma shall promulgate rules to allow
19
20 for the inclusion of a mark or symbol that identifies the individual
20
21 as a durable medical equipment donor and to determine the location
21
22 on the credential where such information shall be placed.

1 B. As used in this section, "durable medical equipment" means

2 equipment including, but not limited to, hearing aids, eyeglasses,
2
3 walkers, canes, and wheelchairs.

4 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
