7   An Act relating to automobiles owned by the state;

7   amending 47 O.S. 2021, Section 156.3, which relates

8   to the purchase of motor vehicles for performance of

8   official duties; removing approval requirement for

9   purchase of certain vehicles; updating statutory

9   reference; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY   47 O.S. 2021, Section 156.3, is

13

14 amended to read as follows:
14

15  Section 156.3. A. This act, Section 151 et seq. of this title,

15

16 shall not apply to and shall not be so construed as prohibiting the
16

17 purchase and use of trucks or pickups by state agencies when the
17

18 trucks or pickups are necessary for the performance of official
18

19 duties of the state agency.
19

20  B. Trucks and pickups owned and operated by the Department of

20

21 Transportation shall be painted either yellow or white, and except
21

22 as otherwise provided by law, shall be plainly marked with the words
22

23 "State of Oklahoma" followed by the name of the department.

1   C. The provisions of this section shall not be construed to

2 permit the purchase of any motor vehicle of ten thousand (10,000)
2

3 pounds or less gross vehicle weight.
3

4   D. All acquisitions of any motor vehicle of ten thousand

4

5 (10,000) pounds or less gross vehicle weight shall be approved by
5

6 the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services as
6

7 provided for in Section 78a of Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
7

8   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
