7   An Act relating to public utilities; requiring

7   utilities to develop energy alert system for

8   communication with certain political subdivisions;

8   providing for codification; and providing an

9   effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.     NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

13

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 295 of Title 17, unless there is
14

15 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15

16  In addition to any other alert and warning requirements required

16

17 by law, any public utility, as defined pursuant to Section 151 of
17

18 Title 17 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall develop an energy alert
18

19 system for the purpose of coordinating communications with county
19

20 and municipal governments. The system shall alert county and
20

21 municipal governments about potential outages, requests for usage
21

22 reduction during time periods of high demand, and any other
22

23 communications deemed necessary to maintain a stable and secure
23

24 electric grid.

1   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
