7   An Act relating to health care; defining terms;

7   allowing patients to request certain restrictions on

8   disclosure of protected health information and

8   certain personal information; providing for

9   codification; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.       NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

13

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7101 of Title 63, unless there
14

15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15

16  A. As used in this section, "covered entity" and "protected

16

17 health information" have the same meaning as provided by 45 C.F.R.,
17

18 Section 160.103.
18

19  B. A patient may request that a health care provider or other

19

20 covered entity restrict:
20

21  1. Disclosure of protected health information:

21

22  a. for treatment, payment, or health care operations,

22

23  b. to persons involved in the individual's health care or

23

24                payment for health care, or

24

1   c. to notify family members or others about the

2                 individual's general condition, location, or death; or

2

3   2. Disclosure to another covered entity of the patient's name,

3

4 address, date of birth, contact information, Social Security number,
4

5 state identification information, or personal financial information
5

6 including, but not limited to, credit or debit card numbers and bank
6

7 account balances.

8   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
