7 An Act relating to wildlife; amending 29 O.S. 2021,
7 Section 4-121, which relates to noncommercial
8 wildlife breeder's license; updating statutory
8 language; exempting individuals breeding or raising
9 certain wildlife from licensure; and providing an
9 effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 29 O.S. 2021, Section 4-121, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 4-121. A. Except as otherwise provided in this title
15
16 or in the Oklahoma Farmed Cervidae Act, no person may breed or raise
16
17 wildlife for personal consumption or noncommercial purposes without
17
18 having first procured a license from the Director of the Department
18
19 of Wildlife Conservation.
19
20 B. Licenses may be issued to any person that lawfully obtains
20
21 wildlife, acts in good faith, and adheres to the laws of the State
21
22 of Oklahoma this state.

23 C. All licenses issued pursuant to this section shall expire on
23
24 June 30 of each year.

1 D. Persons breeding or raising quail for personal consumption

2 or noncommercial purposes, which may include for hobby, education,
2
3 or scientific purposes, or for release on private property, shall
3
4 not be required to obtain a license pursuant to this section.
4
5 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
