7 An Act relating to oil and gas; amending 52 O.S.
7 2021, Section 288.3, as amended by Section 1, Chapter
8 251, O.S.L. 2023 (52 O.S. Supp. 2024, Section 288.3),
8 which relates to the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board;
9 extending sunset date; providing an effective date;
9 and declaring an emergency.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 52 O.S. 2021, Section 288.3, as
13
14 amended by Section 1, Chapter 251, O.S.L. 2023 (52 O.S. Supp. 2024,
14
15 Section 288.3), is amended to read as follows:
15
16 Section 288.3. There is hereby re-created until July 1, 2025
16
17 July 1, 2028, the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board which shall be
17
18 subject to the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law. The purpose
18
19 of the Board is to coordinate a program designed to demonstrate to
19
20 the general public the importance of the Oklahoma oil and natural
20
21 gas exploration and production industry, to encourage the wise and
21
22 efficient use of energy, to promote environmentally sound production
22
23 methods and technologies, to develop existing supplies of Oklahoma's
23
24 oil and natural gas resources, to support research and educational

1 activities concerning the oil and natural gas exploration and

2 production industry, and to cause remediation of historical oilfield
2
3 environmental problems.

4 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2025.

5 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
5
6 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
6
7 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
7
8 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
