6   An Act relating to the Heritage Preservation Grant

6   Program; amending 53 O.S. 2021, Section 415, which

7   relates to permissible uses of grants; qualifying

7   capital improvements and repairs as eligible expenses

8   for certain grants; updating statutory language; and

8   providing an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12  SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY   53 O.S. 2021, Section 415, is

13 amended to read as follows:
13

14  Section 415. Grants awarded under the Heritage Preservation

14

15 Grant Program shall not may be used for capital improvements, or for
15

16 repairs. Grants may be used only, or for operating expenses for
16

17 eligible entities engaged in collecting, preserving, and sharing
17

18 Oklahoma heritage. Preference will shall be given to projects
18

19 affecting collections, educational programs, and exhibits. Grants
19

20 may be used to support the development of strategic plans.

21  SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
