6 An Act relating to ad valorem; assigning fair cash
6 value for certain homesteads of taxpayers displaced
7 by turnpike construction; providing for codification;
7 and providing an effective date.

10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

11 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
11
12 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2888.1 of Title 68, unless there
12
13 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

14 For an individual who owned a homestead that was purchased by
14
15 the Department of Transportation for the construction or expansion
15
16 of a turnpike and is claiming a subsequent homestead exemption on a
16
17 property, that subsequent homestead shall be initially assigned a
17
18 taxable fair cash value in the same amount as the taxable fair cash
18
19 value of the prior homestead in the tax year the homestead was
19
20 purchased.

21 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
