7   An Act relating to counties; amending 19 O.S. 2021,

7   Section 383, which relates to the mode of submitting

8   questions to voters; authorizing online publication

8   of questions submitted to voters; updating statutory

9   reference; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      AMENDATORY  19 O.S. 2021, Section 383, is

13

14 amended to read as follows:
14

15  Section 383. The mode of submitting questions to the people

15

16 contemplated by the last two sections Sections 381 and 382 of this
16

17 title shall be the following: The whole question, including the sum
17

18 desired to be raised, the amount of tax desired to be authorized,
18

19 the rate per annum, and the whole regulation, including the time of
19

20 its taking effect or having operation, if it be of a nature which
20

21 can be set forth, and the penalty of its violation if there be one,
21

22 is to be published at least four (4) weeks in some newspaper
22

23 published in the county or by online publication on the county's
23

24 website or social media pages. If there be no such newspaper, the

1 publication is to be made by posting up in at least one of the most

2 public places in each election precinct in the county and by online
2

3 publication on the county's website or social media pages; and in
3

4 all cases the notices shall name the time when such question will be
4

5 voted upon, and the form in which the question shall be taken, and a
5

6 copy of the question submitted shall be posted up at each place of
6

7 voting during the day of election.

8   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
