7 An Act relating to game and fish; amending 29 O.S.
7 2021, Section 5-205, which relates to clothing
8 requirements for hunting; creating exception to
8 certain clothing requirements in commercial hunting
9 areas; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 29 O.S. 2021, Section 5-205, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 5-205. A. No person after January 1, 1980, may hunt
15
16 any deer or elk with legal firearms unless such person is wearing a
16
17 head covering and an outer garment above the waistline, both
17
18 totaling five hundred (500) square inches or more of clothing, both
18
19 consisting of daylight fluorescent orange color totaling not less
19
20 than four hundred (400) square inches, and both to be worn
20
21 conspicuously on the person.

22 B. The clothing requirements set forth in subsection A of this
22
23 section shall not apply in commercial hunting areas.

1 C. Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this

2 section shall be punished by a fine of not less than Twenty-five
2
3 Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00).

4 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
