6 An Act relating to welfare programs; defining term;
6 prohibiting state and political subdivisions from
7 providing universal basic income; providing for
7 codification; and providing an effective date.

10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

11 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
11
12 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 270 of Title 56, unless there is
12
13 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

14 A. As used in this section, "universal basic income" means any
14
15 program that provides a recurring source of income in the form of a
15
16 government transfer payment to all residents within a designated
16
17 area or political subdivision of this state without a means test or
17
18 work requirement.

19 B. No universal basic income shall be provided by this state or
19
20 any political subdivision of this state.

21 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
