7   An Act relating to firearms; amending 21 O.S. 2021,

7   Section 1289.29, which relates to carrying of

8   firearms; clarifying permissible carry for certain

8   individuals; and providing an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12  SECTION 1.      AMENDATORY  21 O.S. 2021, Section 1289.29, is

12

13 amended to read as follows:
13

14  Section 1289.29. Any United States Attorney or Assistant United

14

15 States Attorney may carry a firearm on his or her person anywhere in
15

16 the State of Oklahoma throughout this state if the person has
16

17 successfully completed a handgun qualification course for court
17

18 officials developed by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and
18

19 Training. The Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training may
19

20 provide for an identification card to be issued to the United States
20

21 Attorney or Assistant United States Attorney and may provide
21

22 application forms. If the person issued an identification card is
22

23 no longer eligible, that person shall immediately return the
23

1 identification card to the Council on Law Enforcement Education and

2 Training.

3   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
