7   An Act relating to the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act;

7   amending 21 O.S. 2021, Section 1290.6, which relates

8   to prohibited ammunition; modifying scope of certain

8   unlawful act; removing administrative penalty; and

9   providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      AMENDATORY  21 O.S. 2021, Section 1290.6, is

13

14 amended to read as follows:
14

15  Section 1290.6.

15

16                   PROHIBITED AMMUNITION

16

17  Any concealed or unconcealed handgun when carried in a manner

17

18 authorized by the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act and
18

19 when loaded with any ammunition which is either a restricted bullet
19

20 as defined by Section 1289.19 of this title or is larger than .45
20

21 caliber or is otherwise prohibited by law shall be deemed a
21

22 prohibited weapon for purposes of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act.
22

23 Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be
23

24 punished for a criminal offense as provided by Section 1272 of this

1 title or any other applicable provision of law. In addition to any
1

2 criminal prosecution for a violation of the provisions of this
2

3 section, the licensee shall be subject to an administrative fine of
3

4 Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), upon a hearing and determination by
4

5 the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that the person is in
5

6 violation of the provisions of this section.
6

7   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
