7 An Act relating to public health; amending 63 O.S.
7 2021, Section 1-503, which relates to reports of
8 disease; updating statutory language and reference;
8 requiring addition of alpha-gal disease to list of
9 reportable conditions; making language gender
9 neutral; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 63 O.S. 2021, Section 1-503, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:

15 Section 1-503. (A) A. The State Board Commissioner of Health
15
16 shall promulgate rules and regulations establishing a system of
16
17 reporting of cases of diseases diagnosed or detected by practicing
17
18 physicians and/or health care providers or clinical laboratories
18
19 which come within the purview of this article the Oklahoma Public
19
20 Health Code. A reporting system established by the Board
20
21 Commissioner shall be applicable to penal and eleemosynary
21
22 institutions. Failure or refusal to report diseases as required by
22
23 the Board Commissioner shall constitute a misdemeanor.

1 (b) B. It shall be the duty of each local health officer to

2 report the existence of disease in his or her jurisdiction, as may
2
3 be required by rules and regulations of the State Board of Health.
3
4 C. The Commissioner shall add alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) to the
4
5 State Department of Health's published list of reportable diseases
5
6 and conditions, the occurrence of which shall be reported to the
6
7 Department by a health care provider or clinical laboratory pursuant
7
8 to rules promulgated by the Commissioner.

9 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
