7 An Act relating to law libraries; requiring law
7 libraries be represented by district attorney;
8 providing for the Office of the Attorney General to
8 represent law libraries in certain circumstance;
9 providing for codification; and providing an
9 effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1228 of Title 20, unless there
14
15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

16 A. A county law library, its board of trustees, or any
16
17 employees of such shall be represented without charge in any legal
17
18 matter that relates to the official duties or operations of such law
18
19 library by the district attorney in whose district such law library
19
20 is located.
20
21 B. If the district attorney is unable to represent a county law
21
22 library due to a conflict of interest, the Office of the Attorney
22
23 General shall, without charge, provide any required legal
23
24 representation.

1 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
