7 An Act relating to initiative petitions; amending 38
7 O.S. 2021, Section 103, which relates to time allowed
8 for gathering signatures; updating statutory
8 language; modifying time period; authorizing certain
9 protest period; and providing an effective date.

11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 38 O.S. 2021, Section 103, is
12
13 amended to read as follows:
13
14 Section 103. Upon the entering of an order determining the
14
15 petition to be sufficient, or upon the successful appeal of an order
15
16 determining the petition to be insufficient, the circulators of said
16
17 such petition shall have forty-five (45) ninety (90) days to obtain
17
18 a sufficient number of signatures to impanel a grand jury. Failure
18
19 to obtain the requisite number of signatures within that time period
19
20 shall render the petition null and void, subject to a ten-day
20
21 protest period.

22 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
