7 An Act relating to conduct of elections; amending 26
7 O.S. 2021, Section 7-117, which relates to precinct
8 registry; requiring signing of certain oath; updating
8 statutory language; authorizing provisional ballot
9 for certain persons; requiring update of voter
9 registration; requiring provision of certain form;
10 and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 26 O.S. 2021, Section 7-117, is
14
15 amended to read as follows:

16 Section 7-117. A. Persons who have been determined to be
16
17 eligible to vote shall sign, in the presence of the clerk, the
17
18 proper precinct registry, and shall sign an oath stating, "Under
18
19 penalty of perjury in the State of Oklahoma, I do attest that the
19
20 address listed is my current physical address of residence". The
20
21 clerk shall then issue proper ballots to the person. The voter's
21
22 signature on the precinct registry shall be the best evidence of the
22
23 voter's having voted at said the election. A voter who cannot
23
24 attest to the oath required by this subsection may be given a

1 provisional ballot on such day and for such election only as

2 authorized by Section 7-116.1 of this title. The person shall be
2
3 required to update voter registration and will no longer be allowed
3
4 to vote until the voter registration is updated. The precinct
4
5 official shall provide a change of voter registration form to the
5
6 person.

7 B. Precinct registries including data from electronic precinct
7
8 registries, shall be retained by the county election board for a
8
9 period of twenty-four (24) months following the election and shall
9
10 be subject to public inspection.

11 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective January 1, 2026.
