7           An Act relating to memorial highway and bridge

7           designations; designating the Toby Keith Memorial

8           Bridge; requiring the Department of Transportation to

8           work with certain individuals to create certain

9           artwork; requiring that any replacement bridge or

9           interchange retain certain designation; providing for

10          codification; and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

14

15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1698.510 of Title 69, unless
15

16 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

17  A. The bridge on Indian Hills Road crossing over Interstate 35

17

18 in Norman in Cleveland County shall be designated as the "Toby Keith
18

19 Memorial Bridge". The Department of Transportation shall cause
19

20 suitable permanent markers bearing that name to be placed on the
20

21 bridge.

22  B. The Department shall, in collaboration with the family of

22

23 Toby Keith or its designated representatives, design and install
23

24 artwork that honors the life and career of Toby Keith on such bridge

1 designated in subsection A of this section. No state funds shall be
1

2 expended to install such artwork on such bridge, but public
2

3 donations or gifts shall be accepted to cover the cost of such
3

4 installation.

5   C. If such bridge designated in subsection A of this section is

5

6 removed and subsequently replaced by a newly constructed bridge or
6

7 interchange, such bridge or interchange shall retain the designation
7

8 honoring Toby Keith.

9   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
