7 An Act relating to the practice of pharmacy; amending
7 59 O.S. 2021, Section 353.30, which relates to
8 pharmacist services; authorizing dispensing of self-
8 administered hormonal contraceptives under certain
9 conditions; directing promulgation of certain rules;
9 updating statutory language; and providing an
10 effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 353.30, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 353.30. A. The use of agreements in the practice of
15
16 pharmacy shall be acceptable within the rules promulgated by the
16
17 State Board of Pharmacy and in consultation with the State Board of
17
18 Medical Licensure and Supervision and the State Board of Osteopathic
18
19 Examiners.

20 B. 1. The State Board of Pharmacy shall develop and prepare
20
21 permanent rules relating to training requirements and administration
21
22 of immunizations and therapeutic injections in consultation within
22
23 the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and the State
23
24 Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

1 C. 2. A pharmacist who has completed a requisite course of

2 training as approved by the State Board of Pharmacy in consultation
2
3 with the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and the
3
4 State Board of Osteopathic Examiners may administer therapeutic
4
5 injections on orders from a licensed prescriber, and may administer
5
6 immunizations that have been approved or authorized by the United
6
7 States Food and Drug Administration without a patient-specific
7
8 prescription, standing order or similar arrangement.

9 C. 1. A pharmacist may dispense self-administered hormonal
9
10 contraceptives to a patient under the protocol established under
10
11 paragraph 2 of this subsection, regardless of whether the patient
11
12 has obtained a prescription.

13 2. The State Board of Pharmacy shall promulgate rules
13
14 establishing a protocol for the dispensing of self-administered
14
15 hormonal contraceptives not later than January 1, 2027.
15
16 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
