7   An Act relating to state fiscal affairs; requiring

7   entities of this state and certain entities to round

8   the price of certain transactions paid with cash;

8   prescribing procedure for rounding; providing for

9   codification; providing an effective date; and

9   declaring an emergency.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

13

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3120 of Title 74, unless there
14

15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15

16  For any agency, constitutionally or statutorily created state

16

17 board, bureau, commission, office, authority, public trust in which
17

18 the state is a beneficiary, or interstate commission accepting cash
18

19 as payment from an individual, such entity shall adjust the price,
19

20 fee, penalty, or any other charge, excluding the payment of any tax
20

21 levy, by rounding the total amount of the transaction down to the
21

22 nearest cent that is a multiple of five. Provided, if the
22

23 individual making payment is using both cash and another form of

1 payment, only the cash portion of the payment for such transaction

2 shall be rounded down, as required by this section.

3   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.

4   SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation

4

5 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
5

6 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
6

7 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
