7 An Act relating to the state Medicaid program;
7 defining term; requiring Medicaid providers to
8 conduct certain screening; providing for
8 reimbursement; requiring the Oklahoma Health Care
9 Authority to seek certain federal approval; directing
9 promulgation of rules; providing for codification;
10 and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
14
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5029.2 of Title 63, unless there
15
16 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

17 A. As used in this section, "postpartum period" means the
17
18 period beginning when a woman gives birth and ending one (1) year
18
19 after the woman gives birth.

20 B. A health care provider participating in the state Medicaid
20
21 program who conducts a visit with a woman who is a Medicaid member
21
22 or her infant during the postpartum period shall conduct a mental
22
23 health screening of the woman to check for signs of postpartum
23
24 depression.

1 C. The screening described in subsection B of this section

2 shall be reimbursable under the state Medicaid program.
2
3 D. 1. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall seek any
3
4 federal approval necessary to implement the provisions of this
4
5 section.

6 2. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority Board shall promulgate
6
7 rules as necessary to implement the provisions of this section.

8 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
