7   An Act relating to detention facilities; prohibiting

7   charges for certain calls in certain detention

8   facilities; providing for codification; and providing

8   an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

13

14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2-3-106 of Title 10A, unless
14

15 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15

16  The Office of Juvenile Affairs shall not charge any amount or

16

17 assess any fee to place a phone call from within a juvenile
17

18 detention facility operated by the Office of Juvenile Affairs.
18

19  SECTION 2.      NEW LAW  A new section of law to be codified

19

20 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 569.1 of Title 57, unless there
20

21 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
21

22  The Department of Corrections shall not charge any amount or

22

23 assess any fee to place a phone call from within a facility operated
23

24 by the Department of Corrections.

1   SECTION 3. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
