7   An Act relating to district attorneys; amending 19

7   O.S. 2021, Section 215.5, which relates to advice to

8   county officers; making language gender neutral;

8   requiring certain representation; and providing an

9   effective date.

1 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13  SECTION 1.      AMENDATORY   19 O.S. 2021, Section 215.5, is

13

1 4 amended to read as follows:

14

15  Section 215.5. The district attorney or his or her assistants

15

1 6 shall give opinion and advice to the board of county commissioners

16

1 7 and other civil officers of his or her counties when requested by

17

1 8 such officers and boards, upon all matters in which any of the

18

1 9 counties of his or her district are interested, or relating to the

19

2 0 duties of such boards or officers in which the state or counties may

20

2 1 have an interest. The provisions of this section shall include the

21

2 2 representation of county officials who seek a protective order

22

2 3 pursuant to the provisions of Section 60.2 of Title 22 of the

1 Oklahoma Statutes against someone in violation of Section 1176 of

1

2 Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

3   SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
