6 An Act relating to the Heritage Preservation Grant
6 Program; amending 53 O.S. 2021, Section 415, which
7 relates to permissible uses of grants; qualifying
7 capital improvements and repairs as eligible expenses
8 for certain grants; updating statutory language; and
8 providing an effective date.

1 1 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

12 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 53 O.S. 2021, Section 415, is

1 3 amended to read as follows:

14 Section 415. Grants awarded under the Heritage Preservation
14
1 5 Grant Program shall not may be used for capital improvements or, for
15
1 6 repairs. Grants may be used only, or for operating expenses for
16
1 7 eligible entities engaged in collecting, preserving, and sharing
17
1 8 Oklahoma heritage. Preference will shall be given to projects
18
1 9 affecting collections, educational programs, and exhibits. Grants
19
2 0 may be used to support the development of strategic plans.
20
21 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
