7 An Act relating to the Oklahoma Minimum Wage Act;
7 amending 40 O.S. 2021, Section 197.2, which relates
8 to the establishment of minimum wages; updating
8 statutory language; increasing minimum wage amount;
9 providing for additional increase over certain time
9 period; and providing an effective date.

1 2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 40 O.S. 2021, Section 197.2, is

1 4 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 197.2. It shall be unlawful to employ workers in any
15
1 6 industry or occupation within the State of Oklahoma this state under
16
1 7 conditions of labor detrimental to their health or morals and it
17
1 8 shall be unlawful to employ workers in any industry within the State
18
1 9 of Oklahoma this state at wages which are not adequate for their
19
2 0 maintenance. Except as otherwise provided in the Oklahoma Minimum
20
2 1 Wage Act, no employer within the State of Oklahoma of this state
21
2 2 shall pay any employee a wage of less than Thirteen Dollars ($13.00)
22
2 3 an hour with an increase of fifty cents ($0.50) per year over a
23
2 4 five-year period after the effective date of this act, or the

1 current federal minimum wage, whichever is greater, for all hours
1
2 worked.

3 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2026.
